The protection covers provides dropped object protection in accordance with Norsok Standard U-001, 5 kJ / 10 cm diameter and 20 kJ / 50 cm diameter dropped objects, and do not need any rock-dump to function. This video link shows a 1200kg weight (0.5m dia.) being dropped onto the cover from a height of 1.8m.
The covers and units have a low weight in water and can be moved and positioned using an ROV. They are also suitable for soft seabed application as they include integrated mud mats. The size of the mud mats can be varied.
ROV installable dropped object protection cover for subsea sea lines with a diameter up to 12” / 134mm.
Protection for sea lines such as flowlines, umbilical’s, flying leads and jumpers, and tie-in spools / jumpers. This also includes near and under platform protection in areas that is not directly accessible from a surface lift vessel (i.e., covers are positioned by an ROV). Furthermore, covers will provide temporary protection of sea lines during subsea intervention including drilling rig operations, or in the cases where there are crossing of anchor lines or sea line installation start-up/ lay down wires.
A modularized system available as straight sections (3.7m and 1.8m), left/right angled sections (90, 45 and 30 degrees) and T-sections. Each protection cover interlock to the next one when placed on the seabed.
The cover includes two integrated mud mat sections which can be varied in size / width.
The dry weights & weight in seawater for the straight cover sections are 334 kg dry / 74 kg wet (3.7m long cover) & 193 kg dry / 47 kg wet (1.8m short cover).
Additional weight can be added to the covers by ROV installed Ubags.
In case of rock dumping, the covers sides will be closed with GRP grating.
For ROV movement and positioning, the covers include a four leg Ufist lifting bridle and two of Ufist ROV handles type D. The latter is also used for deployment and recovery of the covers.

The Ucross Sea Line Crossing Cover provides separation between crossing sea lines.
The crossing cover is a protection cover that has been provided with sloping sides (29 degrees) or alternatively Ubag Stabilisation / ballast bags. The crossing assembly is available in two lengths, either 3.7m or 1.8m.
The cover includes two integrated mud mats each with a width of 1.22m.
Each of the mud mat includes a skirt channel for penetration into the seabed.
The cover is provided with a lifting interface each end (Ufist ROV handle type D).
The external / internal height and width of the cover is HOLD 0.54m / 0.74m.
For cable and flying lead crossings, low profile covers can be provided.
A complete crossing arrangement can be deployed in a suitable size ROV basket. The crossing cover with integrated mud mats can then be retrieved, placed, and positioned on the seabed by the ROV. The weight of the cover assembly and the weight of each Ubag is less than 100kg in seawater.

Sea line crossing arrangement made by combined use of the SSP Umat and single cylinder Ubags.
Simple and easily installed equipment that are available on short notice. Can be delivered packed in a rental ROV basket ready for subsea deployment and installation.
In cases where a sea line crossing arrangement is required, and there is no requirement for a ‘tunnel’ for the underlying sea line, a permanent installed crossing can be easily made by combining the SSP Umat and Ubags Type A-100 (Mod.). Separation may be up to 300mm or more.
The fabric surface of the Umat and the Ubags does not damage any coating or similar on the underlying sea line. The smooth low friction fabric surface and the relatively low weight of overlaying bags and mattress permit sea lines movements resulting from expansion / retraction or similar.
No special lifting frames or spreader beams are required for the installation of the crossing arrangement.
One or several crossing ‘kits’ can be deployed in one deployment operation using a medium size ROV basket. The number of Ubags needed depend on the sea line diameter, required separation distance and the required curvature of the overlaying SSP Umat.
Ubags are placed on the seabed and sea line using the ROV. The SSP Umat is placed over the Ubags and sea line using a surface deployed lifting line. Alternatively, the SSP Umat can be configured as a lightweight mattresses versions rolled up with integrated ROV lifting, positioning and unfolding arrangement.
In the case of very soft seabed the crossing ‘kit’ can also include two mud mat section that are placed on each side of the underlying sea line. These ROV installable mud mats, typically 1 Segment HD Umat, will support seabed weight of the overlaying Ubags and the SSP Umat.
SSP Umat and Ubags are easily and quickly removed and recovered if it becomes necessary.

The Ucross Protection cover units interlock to each other when placed on the seabed by the ROV. This arrangement works both in the longitudinal as well as in the transverse direction. This feature permit the covers to be interconnected to form an elevated subsea deck/ platform on which subsea equipment can be placed. In this case the cover bottom will include an integrated mud mat with the same size as the cover.
The cover is provided with a lifting interface each end (Ufist ROV handle type D).
If positioned with ROV the cover will include a four leg Ufist ROV lifting bridle that will be released by the ROV after use / cover positioning.
