In the period from 2002 – 2005 Udeco personnel were seconded to Dong E&P A/S in Copenhagen, Denmark, for assistance in conjunction with the Stine Field Subsea Development Project.

The Udeco personnel was working in some of the projects key positions. The initial work included re-definition of the development concept in order improve the project economy.The revised development concept was based on Jack-up rig drilling, completion and subsea tree installation (13 5/8”, 5000psi, horizontal with gas lift) of one production well and one water injection well. The jack up rig was also used to perform the diverless dual bore tie-in spool installation and connection, umbilical pull-in and connection using flying leads, well protective structure installation, tie-in spool protective structure installation, pre-commissioning and testing of the subsea PLET manifold, spool and tree system. The PLET manifold located on the end of the pipeline (8” & 3” piggy back) included a connection point required for adding one or several wells if needed in thefuture (nearby or via pipeline). This extendable PLET manifold arrangement minimized up-front investment for a potential field extension or a satellite field tie-in. The umbilical UTA also included facility for future extension of the system. Also, when the Jack-up rig was used for more of the installation and pre-commissioning tasks, and a low cost supply boat was utilized for the load out, the offshore logistics / plan became more efficient and was not dependent on a subsea installation vessel performing any work after the rig left the location. Moreover, rig delays did not have any cost or schedule impact for other installation contractors and/or vessels.
